Custom URL selector (with tree view from CMS)

I like elRTE very much!! I'm working on a CMS and configured elRTE to my needs, it works great!!

But, I would like to add an option (icon by example) in the Link dialogue. With this icon I want to select a page from my current page-tree. So people don't have to search the exact path for pages in the CMS.

Can anyone help, I can imagine that anyone uses a feature like this often!

You can create your own command/button or patch elRTE.prototype.ui.prototype.buttons.link

Can you help me a bit, I don't want to customize the source files in case there is an update by example.

I want in the link Dialog an extra button next to the elFinder button. Is it possible to extend the Link dialog without editing the source files?
